History of right-hand ring
As we stepped into the 21st century, a right-hand ring was introduced with a campaign that claimed diamond rings weren’t only for weddings and engagement.
A " Women of the World Raise Your Right Hand ” campaign by De Beers reads, " Your left-hand says, ‘We.’ Your right-hand says, 'Me.' " It claims, " Your left hand is a symbol of loyalty. Your right hand is a symbol of freedom."
It was simply to let the women think that diamond rings were also worn to show their styles and individuality, and not solely for engagements and weddings.
This campaign was aimed specifically at the ladies and has encouraged many of them to change their thinking about diamond rings. Because of this campaign, the sales of diamond rings have risen 15% and the right-hand ring categories expanded to a variety of styles and a range of prices. Now it is very easy to spot many ladies wearing a right-hand ring.
How to wear right-hand ring
How to wear a right-hand ring is really a personal preference, but a right-hand ring is usually worn on the index finger, middle finger, and ring finger.
Depending on the ring size and style it could be worn on different fingers.
If the right-hand ring that you have purchased is a big cocktail ring, then it may be more comfortable to wear it on the middle finger or ring finger because of the big dimension. If it's worn on the index finger or pinky, the ring is likely to be more exposed to damage and also restricts the movement of your fingers.
Stackable rings and plain rings can be worn on any finger, since it does not hinder the finger movements and is less likely to be exposed to damages.
However, any finger you choose to wear your right-hand ring, it is most important that you express yourself. Wear the right-hand ring as how you like them, the finger you are comfortable and think that it's beautiful.
